Hokitika Arts & Crafts

What To See In Hokitika - New Zealand Art and Crafts

Hokitika is one of New Zealand’s art and craft centres!

Hokitika is home to a community of talented artists and craftspeople, who have been inspired by the scenery and abundance of raw materials (jade, gold, driftwood, timber, clay, shell, bone and fibres) for generations. Their creative talent is abundant, celebrated and diverse, contributing towards Hokitika’s economy and vibrant heritage.

Visit a local glass blowing factory and watch your souvenir being made. Marvel at the craftsmanship involved in creating unique greenstone carvings and jewellery. Pick up some gifts for friends and family at one of the boutique art and craft shops, or visit a local artist’s studio for a taste of Hokitika culture.
