Pet Policy

We are delighted to have your pet accompany you on your stay with us. Please make sure reception is aware you are traveling with a pet, as we will be doing specific room treatments after you check out. There is also a fee of $10 per pet for your stay to help cover the additional cleaning costs.


We ask that you please ensure the following obligations are respected, which we are sure most of our guests with pets will be familiar and happy with:

  • We love all animals, but we can ONLY accommodate up to two dogs per booking in our rooms at this time.
    There is an exception for self-contained campers, where we are happy for you to bring your cat or bird. Birds must not be left caged alone on the ground outside, if you are offsite.
  • In consideration of all guests and other pets, yours must be under control and always attended to. Specifically, pets must be on a leash or securely carried when outside of guest rooms.
  • Your pet must have its own feeding bowls and bedding to sleep on – please make sure they stay off the motel furniture.
    Pets should not be left alone in an automobile. If unavoidable circumstances require a pet to remain in a room while the owner is offsite, they must be caged.
  • Any disturbances to other guests (including barking) must be curtailed to ensure others are not inconvenienced. If this cannot be ensured, we cannot have your pet on our property.
  • Please clean up after your pet outside and make sure no mess is made indoors. Your pet should be toilet trained, and for this reason we do NOT allow pups under 6 months of age. We also recommend bringing your own pet towels.
  • Please do not bring your pets into the indoor communal spaces on site (i.e. reception, the ablution block, and laundry room).


Our experience in hosting groups who bring animal companions with them has taught us that certain animals are more suited to specific areas of our property than others. Please let us know what breed of dog you will be bringing with you, so we can ensure a good fit.

  • The Shining Star reserves the right to charge a guest's account for the cost of any excess cleaning and/or damages.
  • Guests are responsible for all property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet.
  • If the above guidelines are not complied with, you and/or your pet may be required to vacate the property.
